Wilderness First Aid
Course Description
The Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is a two-day, 16-hour program consisting of theoretical classroom instruction, and hands on practical scenarios. This course serves as an introduction to wilderness emergency care and aims to equip participants with the skills they need to adapt standard first aid procedures for a wilderness environment. This course is for individuals who participate in any form of outdoor recreation, outdoor leaders, instructors and guides, or anyone who routinely works or plays an hour or more away from definitive care.
Meet Graham Fong
Graham Fong is a high school outdoor education teacher, and a freelance outdoor guide with 10+ years of experience. He is experienced in many disciplines of the outdoor industry including canoeing, hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, winter camping, and backcountry skiing. Graham graduated with honors from the 4-year Laurentian University Outdoor Adventure Leadership program where he gained certifications and experience in all aspects of the outdoor industry. Graham has also been delivering first aid courses for 9 years, teaching everything from emergency first aid courses to basic life support, and wilderness specific courses.
