Home Alone Course
(10 years and older) Skills

Have a group of 5 or more kids? Call us by clicking the button above to book your course. Children must be 10 or turning 10 by end of the calendar year.

The Home Alone Program is designed to provide children 10 years of age and older with the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible when home alone for short periods of time. It will help them understand how to prevent problems, handle real-life situations, and keep them safe and constructively occupied. Some (not all) of the items from the course are below to give you an idea of what your child will be learning about in this course.

Just like the routines in your every day life, it is important to have a routine for when you are staying Home Alone. Our instructors will assist candidates with planning a routine and the importance of routines when staying Home Alone.

Candidates will be walked through basic first aid and safety/prevention protocols and where to find a first aid kit in the home.

We will discuss with candidates the importance of emergency preparedness and where to go should an emergency like a fire, power-outage, etc., occur in the home.

Unfortunately, it seems that Canada has become a haven for severe weather. We will discuss best places to hide during severe weather storms and tornados as well as what do should the child be Home Alone during an emergency weather situation.

With the ever-changing world and the vast access to the internet, children can find almost anything online. We will discuss the dangers and importance of internet safety with candidates.
